Smartphone Boon or Bane?

A smartphone is both Boon and Bane as it depends upon how it is being used. A smartphone is a revolutionary product of communication technology which changes the way of communication. It comes with lot of applications and features which have both pros and cons. A smartphone is a boon if it is used as :-
1) Communication: It provides various means of communication like telecommunication, text messages, WhatsApp video call, and email etc. So one who is working or studying away from home can talk to his/ her family members.
2) Live online Interaction: It is very useful for online meetings on Google Meet  and online classes in a situation like lockdown.
3) Usefull in Financial Inclusion: Smartphone has bring revolution in digital payment specially via QR code scanning. One can even open a bank account online via videos calling. Funds transfer on a click now.
4) Safety Purpose: Smartphone has GPS facility which is very helpful in tracking one's location.
5)Useful in Navigation: One can drive to new places using Google Map. GPS facility in smartphone is useful for driving direction.
6) Information Purpose: One can watch live news on you tube and can search any educational videos. Any required information can be searched in Google. 
7) Artificial Intelligence: Smartphone has AI facility like chat GPT to search any informative topic.
8) Entertainment: One can listen music and watch inspiring movies on smartphone.
9) Learning Purpose: One can take online coaching classes, can learn foreign languages, music, dance etc. One can even learn different cuisines.
10) Useful in making punctuality: Smartphone provides alarm to get on time early in the morning and useful in time management. 
11)Globalisation: Smartphone make you feel global. You can connect to any person in the world via social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook etc.
12) Health benifits Apps: Smartphone provides many apps to practice yoga, meditation and also to monitor calories, BP, sugar levels etc.
As we said in the beginning, it is also Bane if used as below mentioned:-
1) Wastage of time: One can be addictive to smartphone and waste all his/her time that otherwise can be used in useful and constructive activities like study and games.
2) Hazardous for health: A smartphone is an electronic device which emits high frequency radiations which causes health issues like sleep disorder, memory loss etc.
3) Makes One unsocial: Today's generation is growing up using smartphone and living in virtual society like Instagram, Facebook, Whatsup, Twitter etc. and spending very less or no time with their elders.
4) Immoral and Unethical use: Its camera can be used for taking someone's photos and videos without their permission. So if used unethically can violate someone's privacy which is a fundamental right. Thus if used wrongfully it can violate fundamental right also
Thus, a smartphone is a great innovation of technology but is it Boon or Bane, depends upon the user how one uses it. It is both Boon and Bane. It is upto you what you make it. We have discussed almost all the positive and negative aspects of a smartphone use. Then, what is required is to be a aware user. An aware user knows where, when and how to use a smartphone. So you need to be a aware user to use it usefully.
